Vantaa schools will adopt School Day in the spring of 2021

School-Day-Vantaa-Release

School Day and the City of Vantaa are piloting School Day with third and seventh graders in Aurinkokivi, Kytöpuisto, and Koivukylä schools, as well as in Jokiniemi school's instruction for the disabled. Starting from fall 2021, School Day will be used in 40 schools by all the city's 5,000 third and seventh graders.

The students will be answering a set of questions weekly. This provides the teachers real-time data about their students' wellbeing and learning on a class level. At the same time, principals and the schools' welfare teams can observe the entire school's situation as well as compare classes and groups.

"We can support groups and teachers better than before thanks to the constantly collected and up-to-date information," tells district manager Johanna Honkanen.

Teachers and student welfare employees will handle the data together with students. The guardians will also be informed of the ongoing trends. This guarantees smooth and open communication between homes and schools.

At School Day we are very excited about the new partnership. "The project has started extremely well. Based on the student welfare data, we are planning how to further develop welfare among students and in schools together with the municipal educational administration and student welfare services. It's interesting to see results of this work during the next school year", tells the Sales Manager at School Day, Sampo Lokki.
